What is a white-label website?
A website we build and host that you sell as your own work. Your client sees your name, not ours, and pays you. We bill you at our price, and the difference is yours. It's the same arrangement trade printers have offered designers for years, applied to websites.
Who is this for?
Anyone whose clients ask for a website and who'd rather not build and host one themselves: freelance web and graphic designers, marketing consultants, social media managers, small agencies, printers and sign makers. You already have the client and the relationship. We do the build and keep the site running, and you resell it to your client at whatever price you like. If you've been looking at website reseller programmes, this is one, without the technical side.
How does it work?
- You send us the brief. The business, its pages, the text or notes you have, the logo and the photos.
- We build it. You're usually looking at the real, finished site within two days, on a preview address that only you see. Two rounds of changes are included.
- It goes live on your client's domain. We send you the DNS records, written so you can forward them to your client as they are. You bill your client; we bill you.
What does your client see?
Their own website, at their own domain, and you. Our name isn't on the pages, in the DNS records they add, or on the enquiry emails the site sends them: those come from their own domain. If they have a question, they ask you, and you ask us. If you'd like us to send your client the technical steps for going live, we can, and we never mention our prices.
What kind of site is it for?
Simple sites: a single page, or a small site of up to 10 pages that tells people what the business does, shows its work and makes it easy to get in touch. That covers most small businesses, practices, trades and projects with a sales period.
- Included: the pages, written from your brief and your client's photos; a contact form that sends enquiries to your client's inbox (on the multi-page site); PDF downloads such as brochures and menus (multi-page); Buy buttons for a handful of products or services, linked to Stripe payment links, so the payment is taken on Stripe's own checkout page; links to a booking system, shop or portal the business already uses.
- Not at this price: full online shops with a basket and stock, booking or appointment systems, member logins, blogs or news sections, sites in more than one language, connections to other software, and custom features.
- After launch: new pages, new sections and redesigns are quoted separately. They aren't changes.
If a project is bigger or more complicated than that, ask us before you quote your client. We'll tell you plainly whether it fits, and if it doesn't, we'll say so rather than stretch it.
Who makes changes after it's live?
You do, in our editor. Changing text, swapping a photo or replacing a brochure takes a few minutes, and you can charge your client for it as you would now. We look after the hosting, the security certificate, backups and updates. You support your client; we support you.
How is it different from WordPress?
It's a simple hosted CMS, not WordPress. There are no plugins or themes to keep updated and nothing for you to patch: we keep the platform, the hosting and the security certificate up to date. You edit text, photos and PDFs in our editor. For a simple site that means far less upkeep, and fewer ways for it to break or be hacked. If a client's site really needs WordPress, such as a shop, a members' area or a busy blog, this isn't the right fit, and we'll say so.
What comes with every site?
- Built to work on a phone first, and quick to load.
- A security certificate (SSL) on your client's domain.
- Cookie consent through SolidCookie, our own consent service, included in the hosting. The site needs it once your client adds Google Analytics or anything else that sets cookies.
- Plain, crawlable pages and structured data, so Google and AI assistants such as ChatGPT can read the business properly. Our guide on how AI search finds a small business explains more.
How much does it cost?
The public price is €249 + VAT for one page or €349 + VAT for up to 10 pages, paid once per site. Ask us about pricing. Hosting is €15 a month, or €13 a month billed annually (€156 a year).
| Build, once | Hosting | |
|---|---|---|
| One-page site | €249 + VAT | €15 a month, or €156 a year |
| Multi-page site, up to 10 pages | €349 + VAT | €15 a month, or €156 a year |
You pay by card through a secure checkout link. Hosting renews on the same card, monthly or yearly, so there's nothing to chase.
How long does it take?
Usually within two days of getting the brief. That's the build. Going live can take a little longer if we're waiting on your client to change their DNS, or on a new domain being registered or moved.
Common questions
Does my client ever see your name?
No, that's what white-label means here. Not on the pages, in the DNS records they add, or on the enquiry emails the site sends. The site lives at their domain, and the enquiry emails come from it too. You're the person they deal with.
Who owns the domain?
Whoever owns it now keeps it, whether that's your client or you. Going live needs a few DNS records changed, and we send you exactly what to add. If your client doesn't have a domain yet, they register it wherever they like.
Can my client edit the site themselves?
Today, you make the changes, in our editor. Most edits take a few minutes. Many designers prefer it that way, because their clients ask them for changes anyway. We may add a way for your clients to edit their pages directly in the future.
Can you build an online shop or a booking system?
Not a full shop or booking system, no. For a small number of products or services, we can add Buy buttons that link to Stripe payment links: Stripe takes the payment on its own checkout page and the money goes straight to your client's Stripe account. Setting those up for a few products is straightforward. We can also link to a shop or booking system the business already uses. For anything bigger, ask us first and we'll tell you whether it fits.
How do I pay?
By card, through a secure checkout link we send for each site. The build is paid once, when you've approved the site. Hosting renews on your card, monthly or yearly.
Can I stop hosting a site?
Yes. Tell us before it renews and we'll stop it. That suits short-lived sites, such as a housing development during its sales period.
Can I resell hosting as well as the build?
Yes. Hosting is billed to you, monthly or yearly, and you charge your client for it as part of your own package. Some designers include it in a yearly care fee.
Is this a WordPress alternative?
For simple sites, yes. It's a hosted CMS with no plugins or themes to update and nothing to patch, so there's no maintenance round for you to do or charge for. Sites that need a shop, memberships or a lot of custom features are still better on WordPress.
What happens if I stop working with you?
Sites that are live keep running for as long as their hosting is paid. If you or your client want to move a site somewhere else, we hand over the complete site files.
How quickly can you start?
Usually straight away. Send us the brief and you're usually looking at the finished site within two days.
